Bike Day!

What a beautiful day we had for our bike day today!  We started off by going to gym class and using our bikes to follow an obstacle course! It was a lot of fun! We then took a break and went inside to talk a little more about bike safety.  After lunch recess we got out our bikes again and went for a ride around the block!  We even had a few minutes to ride on the playground before ending the day!  Thank you to all the families for getting your child's bike here and picking it up again!  It was a wonderful day!

Transportation fun!

We were off to Main Street today to do some math!  We were busy watching the cars coming into Reedsburg and graphing what color they all were!  We had a few green, no yellow, and the most of white!  It was a fun activity!  However, I think the kiddos enjoyed making everyone wave and honk at us the most!

During our theme time this afternoon we explored boats!  We read a story called: Sink and Float!
In the story it showed us a huge steel ship that floated and a steel anchor that sank.  We were not sure why the steel ship floated and the anchor sank.  So....we did a little science experiment to find out!  We used clay instead of steel to experiment with!  Ask your child what happened!  Afterwards, we completed an activity where we predicted how many objects would make a boat sink!

Off to the Farm!

We were off to the farm today!  

We  were rained on for part of the time we were there, but we had a great deal of fun!  Thank you to our classroom family that welcomed us on their farm and all the goodies they sent back to school with us!  Here a few snapshots from our day!

Snack time!  The farmers provided us with milk and cheese curds!  We also brought home goody bags and string cheese for snack!

Off to the Bank!

We were off on another field trip on Wednesday!  Our first stop was the bank!  The kiddos had a great time watching our coins be counted and sorted in the coin machine! We also were able to see the super large vault that they have at the bank!  It was a fun adventure and cool to see how a bank works behind the scenes!

 Our next stop was the dollar store to spend our hard earned dollar!  The kids had a great time trying to pick out the perfect item!  Here are just a few purchases the kiddos made!

Field Trip to the Pond!

We were off on a field trip on Friday!  What a great way to end our unit on taking care of the earth! The children were able to enjoy so much of nature and also pick up some trash that were scattered throughout the woods!

 Our first stop was to look at the stick house that one of the three little pigs created!

 Taking a few minutes to look at a natural spring near the pond and we also saw some marsh plants that are starting to grow!

After hiking around the pond, we stopped to roll over a few logs to check out the nature underneath!

On our hike back we discovered some bones! Most students thought they were dinosaur bones, but then we learned that they were deer bones!

 Taking a moment to hear a tall tale about kids that didn't not listen when they were on a field trip with Mr. Williams!

  

 Final stop...time to feed the fish some worms that we dug up in the garden!

We had a great time! But it was very exhausting!  The kids were tuckered out when we got back to school!
